How does Vane aggregate weather data?

Vane fetches weather forecasts from multiple providers (Apple Weather, Met Office, and others) and calculates a simple average for temperature, humidity, wind speed, and precipitation. For conditions like "sunny" or "rainy," we use the most common prediction across sources.

What's the difference between Free and Pro?

Free users get weather data from 2 sources for their current location. Pro subscribers unlock 5 premium weather sources, unlimited saved locations, and priority data refresh for more comprehensive weather intelligence.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through the App Store. To cancel, open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, select Subscriptions, find Vane, and tap Cancel Subscription. Your access will continue until the end of the current billing period.

Why do weather sources sometimes disagree?

Different weather services use different models, data sources, and algorithms. When sources disagree by more than 2 degrees, Vane shows a warning indicator so you can see the spread and make informed decisions. This transparency is one of Vane's core features.

Does Vane work offline?

Vane caches the most recent weather data on your device, so you can view previously loaded forecasts offline. However, an internet connection is required to fetch updated weather information.

Is my location data private?

Yes. Your location is used only to fetch weather data and is not stored on our servers. Saved locations (Pro feature) are stored locally on your device. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
